Well said. I have often had the thought that you must pass a test and pay for a driver’s license to operate a car BUT any idiot can be a parent. If I had a solution I would share it but unfortunately I do not. However, I do have a big mouth and have on more than one occasion offered to take a child home if the parent did not really want the child- you would be amazed at some of the responses i have received and I have even hunted down the police who seem more concerned with some little old granny whose blinker is out than paying attention to the scene in a parking lot where a child is being quite obviously “tortured” only yards away (boy that cop did not like me.) We cannot always know what evil goes on behind closed doors and abusers can quite often have a very benign face. However, I would encourage anyone who suspects abuse (and especially those who KNOW it is happening ) to not only report it BUT to follow up on the reports you make….nothing gets the grease like a squeaky wheel.

Every dress you ever wore from Easter, Christmas or Proms my sewing machine never stopped – even today Ava’s latest “fashion” for Easter is underproduction….. don’t let her know Grammy never learned to read a stupid measuring tape either… it’s a lot easier to just hold your finger’s on the little “notch” marks and “getter” done!!!! This must run in the family? You have had me fooled all this time!!! Maybe Ava will break the “brain block” in her “advanced class” – She can teach Grammy then!!!

I too, was moved to an advanced math class, in 7th grade, where I suffered and worried for a whole year. The following year I’m pretty sure I begged to go back to regular math. I was also one of those quiet kids who listened to my teachers and followed the rules. For some reason they did think that meant I was smart or something.
