Agreed 100%. I stopped watching the news many years ago. I rely on a few select (now former) coworkers to keep me in the loop of things I “need” to know. I have 2 precious boys, 16 & 6. I simply cannot imagine ever commiting such acts those “other people” do. “They” call themselves “parents!” Perhaps biologically, but that’s all in my book.

I think we’ve all been in that awful position to some degree, Stayce (though your experience sounds particularly awful). There’s this awful feeling of helplessness because you know nothing changes. If someone’s willing to act that way in public, I shudder at what happens in the home.

Thanks for sharing this. I always avoid the news because if this reason. I too can’t understand how anyone could harm a child, let alone their own flesh and blood.

I’m with you. I once saw a woman beat her child in a public bathroom…I cried for days. Should I get involved? Do I tell someone? Things like this really bother me too. I’m always grateful that Sarah and Max are ‘mine’and don’t belong to anyone else.

I really liked this. It will not inspire me to ever start running myself, but I think I really understand the motivation now. The quiet. I adore quiet. I lust for it. Running in the quiet sounds almost do-able for me… Excellent.

Great post. I never experienced the growing pains but my husband did and my oldest has had them. So he is the one that goes into her in the middle of the night with some bengay!
