Wow, Kelley, way to hang in there! Luckily my daughter’s Barney phase lasted about a week (I mean, he’s awful, right?). The SpongeBob is still going strong after two years. But now I gotta say, I kinda dig the little yellow guy. At least he has a good heart…

I have three children and I went to extremes to ban that demon,purple dinosaur! I was relentless when it came time for that show to come on to make sure that something else was going to be watched or we would be “busy”. It was a sad day when my then three yr old son cried real tears of sorrow that he did not have a dino doll like all of the other boys in daycare. Me, being the mean mother I am, told my son that he would grow up and be a better person because of being denied the purple dino demon. But, alas, my childless friends took it upon themselves to give my son a dino doll for his fourth birthday. I was so proud of my son after his party when he handed me the doll and offered to give it to a needy child.

My daughter, same thing, NO Spongebob ever! This was when my grandson was born and she was making proclaimations. My grandson, now 2, runs the house and Spongebob is his favorite. I have no idea how he became attached, because I wasn’t allow to let him watch it at my house. Anyways, I have something better I am introducing him to. I have all the violent and politically incorrect Looney Tunes on DVR. The world is just not right if you don’t know what a puddy tat is.

My daughter has loved Sponge Bob since she was three. After four years of reruns, she still loves it, however, I do not. It’s a good thing I have the ability to tune it out.
