While Rachel is teaching Joey to sail, she gets extremely frustrated with his inability to focus and launches into a full-on tantrum. When finished, she sits down, and says quietly, “Oh my god, I was trying so hard not to become my mother, that I became my father.” I live this thought almost everyday.

In Ava’s case, she will be golden either way.
